The 'Mad Mapping' Series
The inspiration for the 'Mad Mapping' series came from my experience as a Royal Air Force search and rescue helicopter pilot. Flying over towns and country I was always very aware of the amazing and varied patterns and shapes that the fields and town layouts projected. I vowed one day to produce an artistic interpretation of those amazing shapes and colours and this series is the result.
The series started by celebrating the UK university city of Glasgow - a dramatically colourful representation of the road system in the centre of the city with the River Clyde running through it and there are now five other cities featured.
These studies have no deep meaning and are just colourful and decorative fun pieces which for those living in or having studied in the chosen cities may well bear further examination.
All my digital artworks are printed on 310 gsm Hahnemühle German etching paper using archival inks. They are delivered to you with a hologrammed Certificate of Authenticity giving the artwork details and edition number along with a matching, numbered hologram to attach to the back of the artwork after framing. Each print has a 10mm white border all round.
